It has been a year since the debut of “TraxComm Dashboard” via our Customer Communication Email last March. Over the past 12 months, encouraging growth figures have been recorded across key parameters on our dashboard.
Total Cable Length – 11% increase, from 458 km in 2020 to 508 km in 2021
- We are committed to meeting our customers’ needs through expanding our network reach, including newly launched data centres in different locations.
Service Availability – Above industry average 99.9992% over the past 12 months
- We have successfully maintained a consistently high standard of service availability over the 12 months.
- Fibre route diversity is regularly reviewed and updated to ensure fastest restoration time in case of outage.
Subscribed Bandwidth – Unprecedented 60% increase, from 3.5 Tbps in 2020 to 5.6 Tbps in 2021
- Skyrocketing internet traffic for online meetings, e-commerce, etc. has led to increased bandwidth demand in 2020. Our top priority is to increase our total network capacity in meeting the surging demand.
In addition, we have extended our network coverage to the newly established Data Technology Hub (DT Hub) in Tseung Kwan O last year. Extra connectivity is now provided for the DT Hub to support the local R&D activities and the Innovation & Technology (I&T) ecosystem, enabling Hong Kong to evolve into a digital economy.
